The Allman Brothers Band 1973 into 1974

New years eve 1973 promoter Bill Graham arranged for the show
at the Cow Palace to be broadcast nationwide. This is a pretty good
boot of the show with Boz Scags ,Jerry Garcia and Bill Kreutzmann
joining the boys to make this one of the Allmans greatest shows.

Led Zeppelin 1973

This is a great soundboard from Stoke, UK 1973. The Zeps
give it their all with a killer jam starting with Dazed then into
Voodoo Child becoming Mars Bringer of War and back into Dazed.

Black Sabbath 1973

Here is one of my favorite Sabbath boots. Compiled from a couple of live shows circa 1973 but never released by the band.  This boot surfaced around 1980.

Sir Lord Baltimore 1970

This American hard rockin' three piece released "Kingdom Come"
in late 1970. Distorted guitar and bass in the vein of "Mountain".
A 71' review of this album was the first coined use of "Heavy Metal
to describe a certain style of music.

Ruth Copeland 1971

This Lady has an incredible voice and a nack for really heady lyrics.
Ruth Copeland was in Funkadelic and many of them including Eddie
Hazel performed on her solo albums. Do yourself a favor and listen.

from and its a killer performence. This is a pretty decent

groove driven record. Garage rock at its best indeed.

Roky Erickson 1986

This is a great  set from Mr. Erickson. There is a lot of
really great material out there so don't be shocked if there
are a few more post from The Rok.

The 8th Day 1971

This super cool soul record has been largely forgotten
as time goes on. Detroit at this time was ripe with talented
musicians. Steve Mancha wrote some great tunes and teamed
with his friend Melvin Davis to produce this classic soul LP.
I think they should get an A' just for the awesome album art.

Food Brain 1970

Mr. Shinki brings it once again on this space crazed psych
masterpiece. No real balance here at all wild guitar and organ
jams highlighted by a giant drum sound from Hiro Tsunada from
Strawberry Path. This is a great jem of obscure psych.

The Doors 1970

This is a great performance not to be easily matched!
The Isle of Wight Festival 1970 had an incredible
line-up and these guys stole the show saturday
 August 29th 1970.

Pagan Altar 1982

Recorded in 82' but not released until the 90's
This record boast mournfull vocals and occult
themes. Sabbath worship at its best!

Ashbury 1983

This 1983 record has an amazing sound. Equal parts NWOBHM
American hard rock and Folk. Marching riffs with very subdued
vocals makes this album just as much James Tayler as it is Rainbow.

Ash Ra Temple 1971

71' what a great year for music! Kraut rock pioneers
unleash this spaced out record. Big sonic landscapes.
For fans of Earthless, Sunn O))) ect. Slip away to Ash Ra.

Bolder Damn 1971

This is a real underground psych classic. Lots of great
tunes on this one. The albums closer "Dead Meat" may
be one of the earliest Doom tracks ever recorded.
Rumor has it that this Fort Lauderdale band recorded
this epic album in only four hours. Dig it ?

Demian 1970

More hard psych from texas. The almighty Bubble Puppy released
this rock jem in 1970. Why they changed the band name im not sure.
There are some fine riffs on this one

Speed Glue and Shinki 1972

This 1972 offering from Mr. Shinki is quite impressive.

Great big slabs of bluesed out psych and space jams.

Roky Erickson and the Aliens 1981

Somewhere between The Misfits and Neil Young
there is Roky Erickson.

Lots of great tunes on this one.

The 13th Floor Elevators 1966

Early psyched out jams with distortion and fuzz.

Roky Erickson's first album. This is a good example of
how far ahead of his time this artist was in these early psych years.

Black Sabbath 1970

This is a real treat folks!  4/26/1970 John Peel sessions.

This is nice early Sabbath with a primordial version of War Pigs
called "Walpurgis"

Neil Young 1974

imagine you are in the city 5/16/74 you have
just paid less than five bucks to see Ry Cooder
at the Bottom Line when Mr.Young who was
in the audience decides to give a suprise performance.

Just so you know all these tunes were yet unreleased
at this time with the exception of Helpless.

The Crazy World of Arthur Brown 1968

Psyched out madness best fits this early experimental band.
Here is a rip from the japanese 45 single Nightmare
